My reluctant boyfriend and I went on the authors tour with 'Spooky". She was dressed in period costume and was something to behold. I recognized her from earlier in the day when we stopped by to confirm our reservations. We chatted briefly then, not knowing exactly who she was. We started the tour and was an amazing storyteller. She drew her audience in with amazing tales of some dark tragic stories of Gettysburg. She also shared first hand accounts of her experiences as a hunter of the paranormal in the area. She used humor to lighten the mood when finishing stories that might have left her audience a little struck with the horror of a war so long ago fought. At one point she encouraged us to walk about and take some pictures. I took this opportunity to ask her about an experience I had earlier in the day at the old orphanage. She was most accommodating and never allowed me to feel embarrassed. She was willing to validate what had happened and thanked me for sharing. This is an experience I will never forget.

My husband and I took the author's tour with Spooky. It was the best ghost tour I've been on in Gettysburg. Spooky was interesting, fun, and involved the audience. She told history of sites, her own paranormal experiences, and other experiences that visitors have had. It was a great blend of history along with the ghost stories. She was a great story teller and made you think you were living it. Highly recommend this tour!! :)

We did the 8 pm tour with Spooky on 7/29. She provided a tour filled with stories supported by historical facts along with personal experiences, all wrapped in drama. Her story-telling was greatly enhanced by the way she could paint a clear historical picture in the mind of her listener. Her stories were well suited for all in attendance, not being too mature nor too juvenile and she made everyone feel welcomed and appreciated. It was well worth our time to attend.

We went on the 8pm Author's tour with Spooky. The tour was excellent, she provided an excellent combination of theater and fact. She was more then wiling to answer question and provide historical inferences to everyone of the sights that we visited and delivered it in a theatrical way that made it very interesting and engaging for the group. The tour length was excellent and we were given the chance to explore the areas that we visited including getting the chance to return to them later that evening. We went back to the creek bed and found some interesting things in our pictures. All in all this was an excellent experience delivered by an excellent presenter and we will be returning for some of their other tours in the very near future.

We went on the Author's Black Cat Tour with Johlene "Spooky" Riley on July 22, 2014. It was a walking tour that took place within a few blocks. Spooky was very knowledgable about the history of the area, and really cheerful and witty despite the oppressive heat of the evening. The tour was creepy even though no ghosts were sighted on this particular evening. A few of us did have temporary camera malfunctions at the creek bed, which was very eerie since we had been forewarned this may happen. I was very pleased to find the price was so reasonable. Even if you don't believe in ghosts the tour would still be interesting; Spooky provided details we did not hear from other guides, and the length of the tour was perfect for those with a casual interest in the paranormal. Most importantly to me, Spooky was very straightforward; there was no stretching of the truth. I came away believing that when Spooky sees something, there was something to be seen.

We have taken two ghost tours this year with Gettysburg Ghost Tours. They offer one of the best investigative hunts I have ever seen. I took my daughter and her boyfriend in March and then my father in May for a father's day gift. We were not disappointed in the least. "Spooky" Riley and her crew of investigators, run a very informative and thrilling hunt. We did their extreme hunt, which runs $55.00 per person, where you get to use all of the professional equipment. I know we were all impressed with the amount of evidence we captured. The great thing is when they are done reviewing all the evidence, they make a DVD ith everything captured and send it out to you. You also get a group picture. There are a few different ghost walks in Gettysburg, all of which are very good as well, but if you want to experience the real deal with Spooky, go see them at Gettysburg Ghost Tours. You will not be sorry....you might be scared though. :)

Spooky did a great job, not sure but when I took a picture from the covered bridge it appears I have an image of just legs with no upper half of a person standing on the side of the water. Plus when you look at the water you can see the reflection of the trees but not the legs. My friend sent it to spooky for her and the other investigators to examine. Next time I come I want to do the extreme ghost hunt!!!!! Sceptic or not , it's fun to go on one of these tours.

My fiancé and I did the Extreme tour of the Hoffman house with Spooky and Patrick. They were great and the tour was excellent. I'm not sure I'm a complete believer yet, but there were a number of things I can't explain that we saw, heard or felt. If nothing else, it was eerie and had me looking over my shoulder the whole time.

I was excited about doing the intense ghost hunt until we pulled up to the house. THAT is when the nerves kicked in... Spooky and Sean were AMAZING! made us feel comfortable with using the equipment, and asking questions. I shocked myself with how comfortable I was with the ghost hunt. If you are in Gettysburg I would absolutely make sure you don't miss this! WELL WORTH the couple hours! DEFINITELY plan to go back and do more tours with spooky's team!

Our tour guide was "Spooky" and we were so glad to have her as our guide. Spooky was is an awesome story-teller and personality. She was funny and engaging, it's incredible this tour was only $10 as I would of paid $20 to get the kind of performance and guide that we received. Spooky is also a paranormal investigator. The tour has something for everyone and is family friendly. I truly recommend getting Spooky if you have the opportunity! It can be hard choosing a ghost tour place in Gettysburg as there are so many but look no further than this one. It is was well worth our while.

My wife and I did the authors tour with Spooky our first night in town. It was obvious from the outset that this is truly a lady who has a genuine passion for what she does. As someone who does ghost tours myself I am familiar with all facets of this business, and I am fully aware that the difference between a good tour and a bad tour all lies with the tour guide. It was a real joy to have the opportunity to listen to a master story teller like Spooky weave her spell over her guests. It is little wonder she is so highly respected among her peers. Great job Spooky, thoroughly enjoyable !

We did the author's tour with Spooky. She was an excellent guide. Got the audience involved. We've been on many ghost tours around the country and this was by far the best we've ever been on. I bought her book and got her to autograph it at the end of the tour. Spooky loves what she does and it shows. Others just do it for the money, but she really gets you going into the tour.

The stories Spooky told were captivating without being too horrific. The kids in our group had a great time and as an adult, so did I. Spooky is a great actress and orator. She is friendly and inviting and knowledgeable too. This was such a great time for all of us. We will do another tour next time in Gettysburg.

We’ve never been on a ghost tour, but our 12 year-old really wanted to go on a recent trip with a stopover in Gettysburg. A little research on TripAdvisor helped me decide on Gettysburg Ghost Tours. I saw so much written about Spooky the guide that we went with her author’s tour and were not disappointed! Spooky was spectacular! She is a great storyteller and gave wonderful historical accounts through her commitment to outdoor theater. We had about 25 people on our tour and had no problem hearing Spooky whatsoever - she was able to engage our entire group! The hour flew by and our daughter had a memorable experience – as did we! The tour didn’t yield any ghosts, but we got plenty of interesting orbs on our photographs and our daughter’s itouch had some seriously weird battery issues at two different points – going from 75% battery to 20% instantly by the creek and then back up to 75% a few minutes later…back down to 20% low battery warning by the cemetery and back to 75% at the end of the tour – she took screen shots and loved every minute of it!

One of the best!!”
